Adopt An Attitude Of Aloha

Writer: Edward BarinqueEdward Barinque

What we tend to constantly think about and focus on becomes our reality. A person who has a positive outlook is happier than a negative thinking person. Our lives depend upon the attitude we adopt.

The Hawaiian Islands has long been referred to as the "Land of Aloha". Our state's nickname is the Aloha State. This is because for the most part what we refer to as the Aloha Spirit is still alive; maybe not necessarily well, but alive nonetheless.

"This Aloha Attitude does not need to change when any of us leave the islands... our lives will be better because of it."

There have been studies that show that people in Hawai'i tend to be healthier and happier than those who live elsewhere. There is a direct correlation between having an attitude of Aloha and health and happiness. The weather and scenic beauty perhaps are contributing factors to some extent, but the main factor is the attitude of Aloha that many Hawai'i locals live.

This Aloha Attitude doesn't need to change when any of us leave the islands whether for vacation or for long term. We can continue to "spread da Aloha" no matter where we find ourselves.

Our Aloha Attitude will affect those around us. Even if we're not physically in Hawai'i, we will have brought and shared Hawai'i with others. Our lives and those around us will be better because of it.
